Enjoy the Ride

Hot summer days…kids are about done hanging out with friends and taking vacations with mom and dad, and they are looking forward to sharing their summer memories with friends and colleagues as many head back to our schools and colleges around the Golden State.

I hope you all had an opportunity – or are getting ready – to take that needed and valuable time away from your daily grind to enjoy your family and friends, discover other regions, and appreciate the many blessings we have here in this state and country.

To be able to work, employ, provide a service, or render a helping hand is part of what makes our state and our country unique and a sought-after destination for many from around the world.

Do not lose sight of or take lightly this gift we are given to do all of the above without fear of government intervention or overreach, as may be the case in many other states and countries.

We do have disagreements and challenges that should and must be addressed and worked out, but this is also why we must enjoy the fruits of our labor, no matter how short that time may be.

There are numerous chapter events coming up – the Annual Angels Baseball Game & Tailgate (Aug. 29), Landscape Technology Expo (Sept. 9), and Chapter Beautification Awards (Oct. 3) – that our Board of Directors has worked very hard to put together and support, putting forth their best efforts for our chapter’s benefit.

There are also local industry events coming up – the Landscape Expo (Nov. 4-5), FutureScape USA (Sept. 1-2), and CLCA’s Annual Convention (Nov. 4-6) – that will help you further your knowledge, connections, and expertise in your businesses. Be aware of them, sign up, attend, and share your expertise rather than just taking away.

There is a great biblical saying: “It is better to give than to receive.”
